This is a subject that has been discussed in various threads and you will be able to find more information using the search facility.
The answer seems to be that no-one really knows how the folding camper should properly be classified, and you are free to call it whatever best suits the circumstances - it can be a trailer tent if the site does not take caravans or a folding caravan if the site does not take tents!
It is not actually something that has ever caused me any problem, as all sites I have used so far have known exactly what the unit is, but I see from recent threads that it can be a problem with certain site owners.
Have lots of fun with your new Pathfinder!

What about on ferries ?
Does an FC count as a trailer or a caravan.
I see some ferry websites ask for the length & height, no matter if you select trailer or caravan.
Cheers,

I am a member of the Caravan Club and use club sites and CLs without any problem at all. Folding campers and trailers tents are both permitted on club sites, and there are generally a fair sprinkling of us at any time.

If on a site that charges extra for awnings, it is a trailer tent because their awning is considered part of the unit & doesn't attract an extra charge like a caravan awning. But if you want a hard standing then it is a caravan.
As David says, work it to your advantage!

Answering my own post ... Irish ferries have replied saying that it is a trailer. (I gave them the dimensions of a pennine sterling)
