Hi there everyone, we have bought a 2010 Conway Crusader, no problems with it at all, the awning also came with it but we haven't attempted to put it up yet, we are planning to go away next week, weather depending!! and were hoping to put the awning up, we have the pole diagram but does anyone have any tips on actually putting the awning up?? Do you zip the awning on first?? I have read some posts on zipping it on first and then chucking it over the roof?? Some say leave the poles half way down and then pull the awning over and zipping it on?? Any advice gratefully received, many thanks, Paul & Steph
We have a 2012 Crusader. Just got back from our first outing and our first attempt at the awning.. We tried the zip it on and thow it over the roof method. We removed all 4 pannels first and then zipped it on - it was difficult at the very top, probably because we are short. It was difficult to throw over but alot easier than thowing the Sunncamp awning over the Sunncamp duo trailer tent. I think next time we will try the poles first and then pull the awning on - this was the method recommended by the dealer (home counties camping).

Before you raise the unit zip the awning on and put it on top(chuck in on top)
Build the front frame on the ground roughly the distance of the depth of the awning away from camper, add the 2 end & centre poles then lift the whole thing up and fit the centre pole that hooks into the camper roof frame followed by the end poles then the other 2 this can all be done with camper in not fully up position. Then raise the camper and the vertical poles, carefully pull the awning over and adjust all the poles.
Hope this helps,no doubt someone else will come along.

------------- If it ain't broke don't try to fix it!
If you ring Pennine they will send you instructions, they are realy helpful.
We dreaded putting ours up first time but it wasnt too tricky - made up frame a few feet away with legs at half height, threw over canvas and then walked it over at full height to camper.
Make sure you have a piece of string on each zip for ease of pulling!
We always zip on first (we have a small set of steps), then erect the frame without fully extending the legs, pull the awning over and then raise the legs...generally quite simple...a few gos and you'll do it really easily.
I put the frame up first but leave the front poles half way up. Then zip on awning. I'm 6'2" and its still a full stretch to zip over apex even standing on the step! Will have to remember to add some string (thanks bl03!) Then put the front poles up and tension.
Usually takes me 45mins to put awning up by myself - including pegging
