Does anyone know of a gas powered heater we could it to our folding camper? It would need to run off 12v and the calor gas of course?

Hi,
What about a small space heater, runs on 12v and gas. Think you can hire them from local hss shops or similar. We have just bought a small portable fan heater for going away next weekend.

I have just found what is needed in a Propex or Truma air heater but at £550-£600 I doubt we will be getting one!
Normally we would get EHU but there were none left at the last site and we thought we would risk it, it was too cold unfortunately so we came home early.
Space heaters are not usually room sealed I.e. the combustion gases are vented into the room, this would not be good in a small areal, thanks anyway.

We use a small Calor type heater, with a catalytic element. Great when it's really cold. Got it from flogas. It's a superser model, and from flogas,it came with full bottle cheaper than anywhere else without one.

WE have just had a week away in north Devon, the nights were very cold but we were snug and warm using heated mattress toppers from Argos, they were made by slumber land and worked extremely well.

Yes but heated toppers don't work on 12v do they? Don't forget we had no EHU.
I really would not want to leave a gas heater on all night unless it was externally vented, too dangerous.

That's a good point, motorhomes have them too, I will look for breakers.
The ones I have seen fit in the under seat box and are fully room sealed so very safe.
I doubt that you could run a 12v blanket for too long without a flat battery, with no EHU there is also no recharge facility too

We have a 12v "electric Blanket". It is supposed to be used from a cigar lighter type socket when the engine is running, to keep you warm when stuck in cold weather. We certainly would not use it just from a battery.
I believe the Dandy also had the heater in the floor. Perhaps the Dandy Owners Club would be a source of information.
The one thing that would make me wary of with fitting a through floor heater into an FC, would be the amount of cross chassis members. I think there would be a limited amount of floor space where such a heater could be installed.

Heaters like these
Heater
Fit inside on the floor of a bed box etc, there are just two small pipes to the outside. Expensive though.
