Hi

could you use a heated blanket on an air bed??  Next week end our friends are coming to stay in our annex in the awning we are getting heated blankets for the pullman but i was wondering if they could use one?

They have given cold nights, i have told them to sleep on a duevt on top of air bed, then sleeping bags then throw over them.  We also have a radiator which we will leave on for them in the awning!!

Thanks

Lisa

We always sleep in the awning on a double height airbed but with great protection. Airbed covered by 9 tog duvet, then fleece lined mattress cover, electric blankets (2 singles so they can also be used when we sleep in the van when the awning has to come down early & late season) and then stretch jersey sheets from Lidls and to cover us a 15 tog duvet that I've extended to a king + single so that it almost touchces the floor and then when you turn over OH is still covered. Cosy or what.

I have heard of people using electric blankets on airbeds successfully but I believe they do cover the airbed with something first, as suggested. I am considering one myself although I have just changed to a camp bed with SIM on top so I will try that for warmth first.

Nowadays you can get low power and washable electric blankets which should be safe in a tent or awning.

I wouldn't pump the airbed up too hard otherwise the air inside will expand with the heat and could cause it to leak...either that or it will float up to the roof like a hot air balloon
