After reading Kelpers handy tip -  including: zip on the awning first, then throw it over the cabin top, then assemble the frame - I was wondering if you could leave the canvas attatched to the cabin when packing up and fold it up with the cabin canvas, rather than folding it up and squeezing it into the bag.

Dont leave awning canvas attached i did it once there is too much weight it bent the cabin poles i had to replace them fold the awning seperately

Ditto that,and it's a right sod to handle in the wind too. To my embarrassment,I was rescued by an elderly caravanning couple when I did this on my Conway.

We always leave the awning attached, too much faffing about to keep attaching it each time. We throw it over the frame and fold it down with it attached :)

i would agree with russ boy, i tried to do this on ours and if anything it made it more difficult to pack way, also i dont think the sunncamp poles are as strong as the conway/cabbanon versions, i could see mine bending under the weight of the awning and it would of been even worse if it was wet

How about, folding the bed boards over, halving the cabin poles then spreading the awning over.  But will the transit cover fit over the extra canvas. ?

Why not take the awning canvas off and instead of putting in the bag inside the trailer just fold it up and lay it on top of the trailer before you put the cover over.

as i have advised many times before ,if getting the awning over the cabin roof IS a problem ,we always take a set of 3 step kitchen type ladders with us ,it makes it a doddle to zip on a awning or any other just out of reach adjustments ,i might add i,m 6,2" and still need them .

I agree with griff10553, best way is to fold the awning up and lay flat on top of the trailer, leaves more room in the trailer and makes the road cover fit better too.

i would disagree on that one.. i think the sunncamp poles are poor quality, but still leaving the awning attached is a bad idea in my opinion.

If it is wet when you place it on top just cover the top of the trailer/bed boards with a groundsheet or tarpaulin cover so it hangs over the 4 sides and as soon as you home dry out the canvas.

We fold ours and put it on top of the cabin and poles. If the awning is wet, then so will the cabin. You just need to remember and open out the tt as soon as you can to dry it. Leaves us quite a bit of space in the trailer too.
