In the first instance, I would use double sided carpet tape. This worked for us when we put velcro onto our folding caravan to hold the customised awning to the caravan.

if you want a quick fix evo stick is probably best ,as lobey says double sided tape will work but its got to be good quality ,or if your careful in application spray carpet glue sticks like sh*t to a blanket

While styccobond f60 looks the bees knees, it is a "contact adhesive" and sticking velcro up under the lip on an FC when both surfaces have to be coated and the adhesion will take place as soon as the two surfaces mate, is going to be a tricky business.

Good luck to you!!!

Hi there

We removed the metal strips from the camper and riveted the velcro on - this was done about three years ago and we haven't had a problem since.  It really wasn't a hard job and was done whilst we were away camping!

Hope this helps

Yes, I would be inclined to do the same.

Then again, if the styccobond f60 is as good as it says, it might be a good idea to take the strips off and then use that to glue the velcro on and re-rivet the strips back on.

I'm sure that is how the factory does that job.

Ofcourse you coul;d always do a "belt & braces" job and glue and rivet it on.

From memory, we got new velcro (with a sticky back) and replaced the rivets already there, plus added extra ones along the edge for extra strength.

hi,
buy velcro from pennine, remove the ali strips and clean them completely.
stick the velcro on.
rivit either end and at 1m/3ft centers along the strip.

then re-fit the ali

do not remove the ali strip from the door.(cant fit it back on if you do)
the extra rivits stop the velcro from pulling off the ali strip.
total time for the job about 4 hours.
good luck
ro88o
ps evostick didnt work for me.
