Me again with yet another question on my pathfinder.....sorry
Pathfinder owners, you know the zip flap that covers the awning/cabin zip? It has an elastic loop at each end which I assume is used to pull the cover flat over the awning. Is this loop hooked over something to keep the flap in place or is the flap just left loose at the ends? if it is hooked, then where.

Hmm.... yeah, thought of that one. But that would mean another tripping hazard if we used the awning side panels as an entrance and I can certainly do the "tripping over a guy rope" waltz. Especially with a glass of red grasped in my mitt.

Putting the loop on the transit cover button can be done whether you are using side skirts or not.
It is roughly the same distance of stretch between pegging out the elastic and taking it to the first button.
The main thing is to get an even stretch over the whole distance from the Apex to the Ground, so you must stretch out the elastic evenly before you peg or loop.
We did not do anything with ours at first until one night in NI when the wind changed direction during the night and started blowing quite a bit.
With the wind whistling in through the 3 gaps along the roof-line and the cover flap flapping against the side walls, getting up in the middle of the night, getting dressed and then going out in the wind and rain to fiddle about with bits of elastic is something you only do once.
However I do find it strange that although this elastic has been a standard bit of Pathfinder Equipment for a long time, there is no mention of it in the Handbook or any instructions as to how it is supposed to be attached.
