hi all.thought I would try and grease the bearings on my cabanon trailer hubs. when I eventually got the dust cap off i was confronted with a 36mm nut. luckily a mechanic lives near bye and I borrowed one. no way was that bad boy coming off. no sign of a grease nipple so I'm at a loss really. any ideas any one???.

There isn't a split pin or locking screw in the nut is there?......just a thought. Not usually a grease nipple, just a case of removing the nut, inner race, wiping with grease and reassembling. Taking care to tighten the nut correctly or you will get a sloppy bearing which will eat it self or a tight bearing which will sieze. Have fun.

On those wheels you just pack the grease in then fill the cap with grease and tap it back on its NOT thhe greatest design but it works ask your mchanic friend if he can fit a couple of grease nipples for you

probaly a split pin through the nut.If you take it off make sure you check the bearings for damage and wear before replacing apply grease to bearings,over nut and pin and replace cap.

thnx for the replys guys, but there is no split pin and after taking the dust cap off it looks like theres never been any grease at all in there, nut and threads are spotless, like new.
