Hi all,

When setting up camp for our Jubilee weekend break, the metal bobbly bit pinged off when I extended ones of the poles of the unit. I have no idea what this is called...?! The ball-bearing size bit that you press to release the pole to its next setting.

At the time, I used a small screw to locate into the hole and with a wee bit of electrical tape to hold it into place I managed to set up - and it did the job!

However, I am taking the kids to Haven (their joy not mine!) for a week in July and would ideally like to find out how I can repair this to ensure that it is strong and safe (I don't much fancy the unit collapsing on me in the night!)

Has this happened to anyone else?
Can this be easily fixed?
Does anyone know where I might get a replacement 'bobbly bit'?

All help most gratefully received....

Many thanks

not sure what they are called but they are a V shaped spring thing with the 'ball' bits on the ends, they just push down into the poles. They will be cheap and easy to replace.

Give a man a fish and he'll feed his family for a day.

Teach a man to fish and he'll sit around on a boat all day drinking beer!

Thank you - that is such a relief... I was dreading it being a fiddly job .

the tricky bit may be actually finding the pole end to fit it in, mine would have to partially remove the canvas from the frame, but that is defo the bit you need.

Luckily, the end I need to pop a new clip into, easily comes free from the other pole - it was the far corner of the bed end in my Challenger and I had to remove part of the broken clip to locate the screw....so thankfully a small repair job. I wasn't sure if the clips were fixed or not so was mightily relieved when I found out they just slide in!

Thank goodness for this forum and the help & advice that everyone so kindly offers
