Hello everyone its me again still suffering with no instructions..
After alot of hard work and effort i found how everything works well almost Pennine Pathfinder and other Pennine models have pen vents which means the windows are pushed open with a plastic rod of some kind to let air in well i dont have these. I do have on the other hand several peices of metal which are in the shape of a letter S sort of wheather these are and old fashoned design i do not know please help
if these S's are not the answer where can i get new rods from??
Hi m8, I also have a Pathfinder of 1998 vintage. The Penn vent poles that you have are the right ones for your model. If you put the poles next to the windows you will then get a good idea of which go where. The 's' poles fit on the ends, and slot into your canvas.
Latter models have a newer more sturdy 'pole' and they don't fit our model unfortunately. I had a couple of broken poles so visited our local 'Camping international' who very kindly gave me a complete set for nothing.
If you need any more help I will try and answer for you.
I have not got any poles which would go straight through the canvas i only have S peices that look like they would fit in about 6 inches of the window and 6 inches of the canvas are these the right ones??
I am new to FC's started out tenting which was easy this is a pain because there are no instructions... thanks for any help you can give
Hi hope this helps, I have the S bits which you then connect the straight rods onto, have you checked that they have not been mixed up with the curtain rails from the the unit, and also the awning curtain rails, as at a quick look they look much the same. My curtain rods extend, but the vent rods are one length. Hope this is of help to you.
Yes it sounds like all your poles have been mixed up! As Peterjohn34 says, the PV poles are one length, so you should be able to match them to the windows.
We only bought ours late last year and had the same problem being given a bag of poles (some broken) and not knowing what to do with them! You will soon match them with their respective window/curtains after your first outing. Beware the 'S bend' poles do break very easily.
We also had the main canopy centre pole break whilst at a site, which required a quick bodge! Once again Camping international helped us out and ordered a new one from Pennines. This was also much stronger than the original as they are under a lot of strain once the canopy is open.
Thanks guys i have sort of worked it out now but it looks to me that people have changed the poles around some of the curtain poles that slide in and out of each other were the vent poles and the shorter ones were actually the curtain poles...
Thanks for helping
P.S any one got a copy of the assembly instructions for pathfinder 600tc 1998 out there????
Penn vent poles and curtain rods? I don't seem to have any of these with my '93 Fiesta. Should I have, or would you not expect to get these as far back as '93?
Barrons have a 93 fiesta in stock does not look like yours has pen vents but is supposed to have curtains but wheather they are put up with poles or wire i am not to sure i am sure if this is not enough info for you some one may be able to help you if you make a new post about it sorry i cant help further..
P. Babington I have just emailed you my address thanks again mate
I think Sasha that your curtains would just clip on to a piece of plastic personally I am not sure that rods are an improvement on the old system. You wouldn't have penn vent to keep the windows open. And frankly having to go outside to shut it when its raining is not that wonderful either.
------------- Good friends are hard to find, difficult to leave and impossible to forget.

Hi we have never shut the pent vents up ,in 4 years of ownership , even in thunderstorms, never had water come in yet , all they do is hold the pvc away to let air in ,
