yeah - on-top of that the kids are teenagers and the thought of camping is abhorrent to them....so we are going to consider options for us to go as a couple, may even downsize to a 2 berth trailer tent. Defo dont want to give up camping, had a caravan before and missed the "outdoor" experience, somehow there's something special about sleeping under canvas, and I certainly don't like hotels/motels(I spend enough time in them during the week)
I know what you mean with when the children get older and don`t want to come as we will face that in a couple of years when our son reaches 18.
We have already thought about what we would do and have decided to stay with our Olympe on the basis that we love it and would have to do the same with whatever we got i.e. store it, tow it and erect it. We retain the large living space and if friends or family want to come away we have the bedroom space. We have done a few modifications, which have made it easy for most of the work to be done by one person.
I know exactly what you mean with a caravan as we had one and very soon got rid and went back to TT`s. We also do not like hotels, self catering etc. A personal choice whatever a person has or goes for though.
