We are going to Vendee in August. The cheapest ferry crossing to Portsmouth is with L&D lines but it docks after 9.00 pm and we have to tow our folding camper back to The Midlands with 2 children as well as trying to push our camper onto our drive in the dark. Does anyone know anywhere we could stay near Portsmouth where we could leave our camper where it would be safe. Last year we did drive back to Calais but we did not want to drive that far and the journey from Dover was a nightmare.

Do you mean where you can leave it overnight whilst you stay in a hotel?  I live about 5 minutes drive from the Ferry terminal in Bedhampton.  There is a Premier Inn up the road which is in a nice area with a secluded car park.  Would like to think that it would be safe there with a wheel lock overnight.
