After a humdinger of a rain storm this morning, we're away after school for the first time in our new (to us) FC to Fairthorne Manor in Southampton. It has a stream and woods to play in so we're hoping that keeps the kids out of our hair. They allow campfires too so we have the marshmallows packed. Yay!
The caravan is being traded in. Don't get me wrong we have loved the caravan,it's warm, comfy and dry, but its just not the same as being in a tent, trailer tent or folding camper.
We have found ourselves increasingly more just vegetating in the van rather than sitting outside and enjoying the weather/atmosphere. We seem to have had more memorable times when we have been in the tent or the folding camper than in the caravan. The only reason the folding camper went before was because at the time we didn't have anywhere to dry the unit out.
Now we have moved house we have a drive and a garage to accommodate a smaller unit. Add on top of that storage costs, time travelling to the storage unit before we can set off, servicing etc we've decided to go back to a trailer tent.
I know people will think we're mad but it just feels the right thing for us to do now-plus I'm more likely to have a go at towing a trailer tent than the van lol.
