Well I hate to admit it but we were leaning towards getting a Spawn of the Devil Tin-Top before our trip last weekend. What with the faffing of putting up the fc then the blooming awning, and the prospect of a wet pack-up...I'm sure you know what we mean!!!

However after watching all the extreme 'faffing' that the Tin-Toppers had putting up thier awnings and the amount of space we have (without having to make beds up every night), we have decided that the fc is where we want to be and long may 'she' (Of course) reign!!!!

Oh and we had our second ever dry pack-up! Roll on the end of July whe we get to spend a whole 10 nights away...longest trip to date n can't wait!

Glad to hear you're staying with us! We're having our longest trip in July, 13 nights and like you can't wait ... counting down the days!! It's only our 3rd trip with the unit and it's pure luxury from being in the tent setup we had.

Have fun in July.

We did that too! Went from Folding camper to caravan thinking it would be better - but hated it! Not only was there no room but my husband found it difficult to tow and I wouldn't tow it at all! (I towed the camper around no problem at all) so I couldn't take the kids away on our own in the summer holidays when the OH was on night shift.
We sold it and got the Bonair we have now - much better, more room, easy to tow. It might not be the best looking set up in the site but we love her.

As has often been said its about what's right for you at that time. Nothing has to be forever! All I can say is if you have had those thoughts, you will at some point again!

Glad you are enjoying your FC - if we had permanently sunny and warm weather we wouldn't have changed I am sure. But our first few weekends we haven't been sitting weather watching Saturday night or Sunday morning, which is a big plus for us and our UK "summers"

Just get a dandy. Easy to tow & set up, no cares about wet pack ups, cool in summer, warm in winter, nice & comfy. Best of all worlds.

You are probably right! So glad you're enjoying your Adria. We did look at that model and were very impressed x

We nearly bought a 575TC before our Pathfinder but someone beat us to it! Liked the two 140cm wide beds at each end in particular. Decent payload as well from memory.

Have a great summer!

Yeah, we spent all of 2012 looking at caravans to replace our 1996 Countryman.

We would store the caravan away from home, at a cost of around £1 a day. We all know that, for 95% of the year, the Unit is parked up somewhere.

I can keep the Camper in the garage with my summer sports car, easy and free.

Can hitch up and go with a moments notice.

Can camp at short notice on Certified Locations - as it is classed as a tent, so not limited to 5 per CL like a Caravan would be ......... means that there is always space for you, this adds excellent flexibility to holidays.

Cheaper Insurance adds to the FC appeal, as does 'beds always made' benefit.

So, after long and hard consideration, we bought a new Countryman Deluxe this year .... it's certainly not as well built as our 1996 model - but, heyho, that's what it's like these days ....... save pennies at every corner.

We thought about a tin top for getting away for long weekends and using it when weather was not so good. And then we would only need a tt to complete the full set to go with the tent's we have and fc.

We thought the same - but, would we want to sit in a caravan in the cold and wet? No - so, a caravan seemed pointless - we liked the idea of loo and shower, but our new TC has a loo and showers simply result in daily water fill-ups, which is a drudge.

I believe we have the best of all worlds IMO
