Just put the canvas back on...
.but not impressed by pristine clean...white powdery patches and dark areas...they say wash off or wait til the rain comes..any ideas..clean ones..
I would use Grannys Soap Flakes to wash, then rinse with hosepipe, and dry while the weather is good. You can get these from Home and Bargain stores, or other brands from chemists, etc. You dissolve the flakes in hot water before using, and a small brush (like a washing-up brush) will help with stubborn bits.
You may need to reproof the canvas with a waterproofer afterwards, however, the soap flakes are really mild and don't usually disturb the waterproofing. Soap flakes are commonly used to wash waterproof/breathable outdoor clothing and coats without ruining the waterproofing.
yes it was a specialist, via jeff bowen awnings, we ended up at pristineawnings at Carlisle...they will collect, wash by hand, reproof with fabsil by roller, dry and return by courier.....awnings, tents, etc...they say they have only seen this once before with another pennine cabin..how do I post a picture to show you..they say same thing, try a damp cloth first, then get the hose out...they think it is an accumulation of the fabsil..uneven application? it was stored in the bag for two weeks which may not have helped but we had no aftercare instruction..it should have been dry..
so will get the hose out and try..just hope it is waterproof..will put the oyher half inside to find out!
yEP hose out and it leaks..just in time for the thunderstorms and flash floods like we had last year..going to try and reproof if we can..any ideas on the best methods and makes?
