my brother is collecting his his new pennine sterling next week. he was asking if he should have a stabiliser fitted has it weighs 650kgs empty? i said i didnt know but i knew a man (or women) who would know.. thanks
we used to have a f/c and we towed without a stabiliser without any probs...i think that because they are lower when towing you don't get the same effects as a 'van when towing(like when a lorry passes)
having said this if it would give piece of mind to your brother then he should get one , we picked one up for our 'van second hand for £25 and it's almost new !!!! there's no harm in being extra careful

Probably not needed. Depends reallly on the weight of the car. They don't catch the wind like a caravan but it still feels better with one on. The pathfinder weighs 820 unloaded and comes with a stabilser in the tow hitch. It tows well with or without but we feel happier with it on.

Probably not the right answer always used a stabilser on the caravan because of the size and cross winds,never fitted one on the trailer, lot smaller low to the ground and find it sticks like something to a blanket, can say I do not know the unit is on the vehicle whilst towing, but the caravan you were aware. Also as the saying goes if the unit is weighted right, you should be fine, your nose weight limits are a must I think for a safe drive.
