hi,

Currently have Grren Flag European breakdown cover and noticed it only covers vehicles upto 16 years and definition of vehicle covers the car and caravan/trailer.  Now thats no problem for my car but the Pathfinder is not far off 16 so I'm worried if the car breaks down then soon the camper won't be covered for towing back home.

Does anyone know of cover that doesn't have that age restriction ?

regards

Hi Adam,

I'm with The Green Insurance Company. Rates are pretty good and no stipulation regarding age of vehicle, trailer/caravan.

I don't actually know if there are any age restrictions on ours, it's only 3 years old so not something I'd thought about, but its with the RAC via the Camping and Caravanning Club.

All the best,
Alison

the breakdown cover is for the car. so as long as the camper is hitched to the car at the time the car becomes unusable,& providing the recovery cost of the car does not exceed the market value of the car, then they would bring both home.
How ever if the car is made unusable while the camper is not hitched ,Ie its on a camp site, then they may not bring the camper home ,you may have to pay for its return.
like wise if the recovery of the car exceeds the market value of the car they will not bring the car or the camper home.
This is general with all/most CAR based recovery insurance, which is why I use either the CC or C&CC as they will get both home
