Has anyone replaced their carpet in their folding camper? Any advice would be appreciated. We have a conway cruiser 2000 and I've noticed the carpet goes under some of the units so this could be tricky.
We recently hit a stone whilst towing which caused a hole in the plastic under the wheel arch. travelling in heavy rain, sloshing thro large puddles resulted in soggy carpet! We have managed to dry it out but it does still smell a bit so thought replacing the carpet might help.

i should imagen it is not that difficult to do, i would be worried about the floor rotting underneath if it is wooden, surley the cabnets and furnishings come out to make life easier for you?

Sorry i do not no much about FC's to give any serious advice, also have you repaired the offending hole?

Duct taped at the mo! Other half reckons it'll be a simple job to replace the plastic arch. It's on the spring list!
There are units that are screwed down & not freely moveable. I will investigate! Thanks for the advice.

If its plastic get some fibre glass repair stuff from halfords quite cheap and easy.

Could cut the carpet that goes under the units.

Sorry just thought about this if the carpets under the units are wet it could cause rot and a very bad smell when warm, I personally would try to remove everything to do a 'propa-jab' (sorry Wiltshire joke)

We've removed our carpets/mats completely ... there's a synthetic wood floor under them ... easier to clean.

Try using a sharp knife and cut the carpet right up to the furniture,then you could either re-carpet the whole camper or just do the living area between the settee's and lino the kitchen area with a carpet strip in between.

Can you loosen the furniture to pull the carpet out by unscrewing the fitting screws and then doing them up again? We removed the carpet in our old FC and I remember it being quite straightforward.

We fitted a carpet in our camper a couple of years ago. We bought a strip 2 metres by 4 metres wide from Carpet Right and cut it to size. We find it better than mats and it can be vacuumed or lifted out and cleaned. If you need to replace your carpet try to take it out in one piece as it can be used as a pattern.

Our bed bases just lift out if you undo a few screws the lino goes under the units and the carpet.

IF you lift the seat lockers and look inside you will see some retaining screws for seat bases, so just loosen them and pull out old carpet.
As above fit new carpet so it fits snug against outside of seat bases and you then have removable carpets
