Just bought a used trailer tent and, although in very good condition, it as some 'slight' staining on the outer canvas. Can anyone suggest a suitable stain-remover & will this affect the waterproofing ?

if you give your trailer tent a good soak with the hose pipe and use a soft brush then you shouldnt have to many problems with the canvas and reproofing but if you use detergent it will be very hard to get it water tight again, the worst of the muck should just come off but you may have to learn to live with the heavy staining.
