We've sold the Pennine after less than 24 hours and have bought a Raclet.
Collecting it on Sunday, should be a fun 800 mile round trip! The current owners have no idea of its age or what actual model it is, just that they haven enjoyed having i for a few years and have now bought a caravan. They have limited photos of it as well.
Below are what they do have......can anyone let me know whatt the model or the approximate age is?
hi that looks to be a trailer tent whereas the aztec you had was a folding camper. the difference is that the aztec had the cooker etc in the main body alongside the beds whereas that doesnt look like its got a kitchen unit in the photos. looks to be in good nick though. enjoy.
It's got a kitchen unit & you are correct in the fact it's a lift out one.
Would have kept the aztec but buying the enclosed awning /room for the front would have been a ridiculous price compared to the cost of the aztec itself which I only paid £140 for!
Hopefully it will be as nice as it looks, it's described as being in good condition so fingers crossed, now if I can just get a storage box & bike rack for it, it would be all we need :)
Congrats. If it hasn't been used for a long time pay particular attention to the tyre condition, not the amount of tread but the condition of the sidewalls, especially with such a long trip home. Tyres need changing every 5 years or so due to ageing so factor that in to your budget.
Some of the Raclet models have a date stamp on the wheels which will help date it. If you can put up a few more photos of it next week we may be able to identify the model for you.
So collected it yesterday, 850 mile round trip, towed great on the way up though I notice that unlike the Pennine it is not a braked trailer.
Spent about three hours in total working out how all the poles for the awning slotted together, had been colour coded with tape in the past at some point but quite a lot had peeled off and the "springs" that held the poles together had parted in quite a few as well.
Of course what fell out of the back of the cooker unit once it was all up, a full set of instructions The previous owners obviously had no idea they were there either as they had just had to try as best they could to slot it all together as well!
Now as to what Raclet it is......there is an A1 sized fold out set of instructions that call it a Cortina but a label sewn onto the awning bag states its a Solis 2....perhaps the trailer part is the Cortina and the awning a Solis 2???
But then rather confusingly, there is a full set of photocopied instructions labelled Tribune. However these ones are labelled type 616.1 whereas the Cortina ones are type 609.9 and this 609.9 appears on the frame pole layout diagram that correctly matches the hesagonal canopy/awning that we have.
Some picture below if this will help on the identification.
Now it also has two of the "pup" tent things that go under the main sleeping platforms, neither seems to have been used, perhaps as no one could figure out what to attach them to! They have the same sort of circular clips that go over the poles as the inner roof lining does but there are no poles to clip them onto underneath the platforms.
Also although there are two of these little "tents" only the left hand side has the zip out part for easy access, the right hand side is just the canvas falling away to ground level, no zipper.
and its the same as ours right down to the colour scheme! It looks like the log book for the trailer says it is a 1993 bodel as well, but I might be mis reading it as the writing in the left column is tiny.
Wonder why there is a set of tribune instructions with it.
Perhaps it was called Cortina in the rest of Europe but was sold here as a Tribune. I've heard of the Tribune before but I've never heard of a Cortina.
Whatever it is it looks very good for the money you paid, it even has mains electrics fitted.

The Tribune instruction manual does have a big GB on the front, yet still in French & English inside so perhaps you are correct, plus searching online for Raclet Cortina brings up quite a few European postings but none for the UK.

Agree it does look in great condition, not heard of the Cortina, but have heard of the tribune.
How did it go towing with the tractor - a little slow ? Though at this time of year you could tow it any where.
Regards,
Tony.
Amazed at the condition, complete luck getting it and shows what an appalling state by comparison the Aztec was.

I'd looked at those but given the whole lot cost £199 and the fact that I am Scottish I dont like the idea of paying that much for a box to stick on the front. Will see how we go with the firt couple of trips, have a maxxraxx to put on the car as well so if struggling for space will probably get a topbox rather than one for the front of the trailer.
That is a hell of a tent for the money! I use a box that I got from B&Q,a tote box I think it is called. Not as big or robust as a proper one,but it takes a porta potti, water and waste containers as well as a step, spirit level, chocks and foot boards etc. It won't take a fridge,or at least not mine.About £30 and it's straps on to 2 old roof bars that are bolted to the A frame.
