A couple of months ago our trailer tent was badly damaged in gale force winds and we're going through the insurance to get it sorted.

It's taken a while to come to this point but we have now had it confirmed that all the mangled poles can be replaced so we're about to put in a claim.

Is there anyone out there who has made a similar claim?  How long does it take from sending the claim to the insurance company okaying it and then the manufacturer sending the parts?

We're supposed to be in our tt for a week in Suffolk in early August and are beginning to think that it may not happen.

Cheers

Mark

I would have hoped they would have agreed & paid out the claim before two months had past!

We've recently put in a claim for our caravan...I sent the claim form off with a couple of photos and an estimate and I received a cheque back within a fortnight.

Mark, assuming you've read the policy and know that the damage is covered, either because the policy specifically includes weather related damage, or simply accidental damage in general, I would have thought that with photo evidence the insurers would OK it reasonably quickly.

They will then have the option of sending the cash less any excess, or arranging for replacement poles to be supplied.

If there was a time issue, I would have thought it more likely to be with the manufacturer's parts levels.

Good luck.
