I hope somebody can answer this,the ratchet on the hand break on my Pullman has stopped working you can pull the break on but the handle does not stay up.so the break does not stay on.

Presumably ratchet worn out or something dropped off? Spares are available & repair is easy diy if you have tools & mechanical aptitude.

Has the pawl stuck inside the housing? Does it make a clicking noise when pulling the handle up, if not maybe the pawl is stuck?
A good spray with WD40 or similar should free it off.
