Hi darksiders, wonder if anyone would know if my car would be ok to pull a swift 580 challenger 08. I own a audi 2.0tdi avant Sline on a 06 plate but can't seem to find if this is any good as a tow car.
Due to it being a Sline lower suspension etc.
Any ideas? Thanks------------- Up there for thinking, down there for dancing. 😎

Have you tried whattowcar.com? They tend to have quite a few cars/caravan combinations on their website-and I don't just mean brand new models.

Hi rachntex, yeah I've looked on these sites but they only mention the standard a4 2.0tdi not the Sline version which like a sporty version with harder lower suspension and bigger wheels. Wonder if it made any difference, as would imagine the suspension isn't as good as the normal for heavy loads.------------- Up there for thinking, down there for dancing. 😎

We've had the standard A4 and it was fine, now have a BMW which is very low...when we hook up the nose of the van is visibly down, but it does tow nicely...can't comment on the suspension of yours though...we're getting a new A4 in November and will still only be able to tow 1300kg. When we were looking the swifts were heavier than that.

Just had a look on Whatcar
http://www.whatcar.com/car-reviews/audi/a4-avant/2-0-tdi-177-s-line-5dr/specifications/64631#tabsection3
This shows towing capacity 1600 Kerb weight 1525
If you wish to stick to approx. 85% this will be 1300 towing weight.
We are also looking at around this weight but as there only the two of us we should be able to find one to suit.

I was looking at a land rover discovery until I see the mpg and they seem to be a bottomless pit.
I prefer a bmw as rear wheel drive after owning one, you do notice the difference from front to rear wheel drive. ------------- Up there for thinking, down there for dancing. 😎
