Evening all I have been busy this weekend with building an A frame storage box for the gas bottle and the leg blocks and ramps. Had to build one as there wasn't one fitted just a piece of MDF & I didn't want that so in the bin it went lol. Has anyone else custom made a storage box themselves if so what size did you make it?
I Built a storage box for our camping trailer, made it to suite the trailer and what we Wanted to keep in it, gas bottle, pegs, mallet, ground sheet, etc. on our first trip with it, I kept it to low weight to see how the trailer towed with it, and it was fine, so on our way home I packed a lot more in and I as surprised how much I got in there, all the little bits and bobs that we carry.
I made it from 2 mm sheet metal, as I am a welder by trade, so was a no brainier really. Lol.
Got so many comments on it when we was on site, I, thinking of making some up to sell!!

Don't forget all of this construction has to be included in the payload for your model of TT. And if you're putting heavy items in a front box remember to check the noseweight.
I made one from light ply wood 18incs long 15 incs h deep depends on space from front of TT to jockey wheel also used half inch square for corners glued and screwed
I had one made from aluminium, by a fabricator that I know and powder coated. It weighs around 9 kg and is huge. It is great for taking light bulky stuff, eg plastic steps, water carrier, dust pan and brush, etc.
Wasn't cheap, but was less expensive than any of the ones for sale, will last longer also
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
