Hope someone can help

On our 86 pullman we have been unable to get the white lights working at the front, weve removed old bulbs and cleaned the holders etc. however we have now noticed that the bulbs are different. one has 2 connectors on the bulb bottom and the other has only a single connector...can anyone tell me which it should be??

Look inside the holder. If there are two connectors at the base then obviously you need a bulb with two connectors! The bulb with one connector obviously fits a holder with one connector! Easy!
You need to get hold of a voltmeter to check whether you have juice to the holder and make sure all connections are clean

Most likely a single connector. The doubles are usually for stop and tail lights whereas the front marker lights are only side lights. Should probably be 5 or 6 watts not something like 21 watt which would be an indicator bulb.
