Leisure batteries aren't like 'normal' car batteries etc. If you allow them to discharge by more than 50%, it is unlikely they will ever achieve full charge, ever again. Likewise, if you allow them to fully discharge, then they are likely to need replacing. This is a very common problem at this time of year, as people bring their units out of storage, and, especially if the battery has remained connected to the camper 12V system, it has fully discharged, and is no longer usable.

Obviously, circumstances vary, so difficult to give a definitive answer, but, if you have left the battery in the camper all Winter, without recharging it, then its likely it will need replacing, if you do want to camp without EHU.

If not, however, then there is no rush to replace it, as your Sterling should have a built in transformer, to take the 240V power down to 12V, thereby allowing you to power water pumps, lights, 12V sockets etc, without having a leisure battery. I always have one, regardless, 'just in case', but it isn't essential, if always using site electrics.
