Anyone know what size and length of cord to use on a Pennine Sterling cover, the cord on the one we have just bought is in a bit of a state and so badly perished I can't get any idea what diameter it was originally.

Looking at buying a length of bungee cord from feebay but can't decide what diameter or length.

Hello,
I've just had a similar problem with my Pathfinder. If you go to the
Pennine website you will find the cord for sale. It's about £1.09 a metre. The website also tells you the width of the cord and how much you will need for your model.
I did this and promptly went on to a well known internet auction site and was able to find what I needed for half the price.
Have just ordered it today sa can't speak about its quality yet.

We replaced ours last year using the black and white shock cord from b&q, it was sold on a flat blue reel for approx £10 from memory. diameter of
5mm. It looks like This one from homebase, we had a few metres left over from this pack, we also used it replace the shock cord on the weather flap that covers the zip between unit and awning.

It's not just the length and diameter you need to be aware of but the number of strands (number of elastic strings inside the cord).

bought mine off fleabay last year (a lot cheaper than Pennine) but has already perished and needs replacing again this year. looking at the original underbed shock cord it looks to be at least 21 strand - the replacement I got of fleabay had a lot less
