Hi,
My husband and I are going away this weekend for the first time in our trailer tent. We will be taking our bikes with us and I'm just wonder how do you lot secure the bikes when/ if you take them with you?

The sturdiest/heaviest locks/chains etc you can afford/carry.
Certainly lock them together, but preferably to something else too, be that a chunky tree, sturdy railings, tow hitch/A Frame, or of course, the bike carrier itself.
Personally, as a tenter with no A frame, ours get stored the same way as they get transported, chained and padlocked (an alarmed one, in our case) to the tow bar mounted carrier, which in itself is locked to the tow ball...
Out of sight is good too, of course, but if it's a straight choice between well chained but in view v not so secure but out of sight, my preference is the former... particularly with that alarmed padlock!
All of the above, but I see it's your first time out. You'll gradually be able to judge a site, how secure it is, the people there etc and then you can adjust your level of security to how necessary you think it will be. The bigger the site, the more impersonal it all becomes and therefore probably more security needed etc. We usually use the flexible bike locks and chain them to the A frame. This is good if your A frame is at the back of your set up so it's not facing the access road because then they are out of sight as well as being chained up.

Padlock them to the a-frame. However, I think that whether they get stolen will depend on their value. If they are just normal bikes then simple chain will do. If they are expensive £1,000 + bikes then I wouldn't think about taking them.
