We have a 1988 Pennine Pullman with a zip-on sun canopy but no awning. I'd love to get an awning (so we can take the dog with us!) and have been scanning ebay for one, without success.

I have been wondering if any other owners use a free standing camper van type awning? If so, are they easy to attach to the trailer tent? Can they just be tied on somehow?

Any advice/suggestions great fully received!

Can't you just use a Pup Tent
Sorry, I'm surprised no one else got there before me.

Have you considered a free standing utility tent, those used for storing bikes/equipment etc. plenty of room for the largest of dogs and much easier to put up than an Awning.

Isn't the dog allowed in the camper?

Thank you Fat Spider for the reply. I'd also thought about using a utility/shelter type tent so might go with that idea.

We saw some VW campervans earlier in the week using the 'driveaway' style awnings and wondered if other folding camper users had also used these. I guess the 'flappy' bit of the awning can just be tied on somehow to the roof of the FC?

Our camper is full of kids, so with the dog being a large Labrador, I'm afraid she'll be sleeping in the new tent/awning!
