We sold our Pennine Sterling on Preloved and had about 15 people interested in it.

To be honest, I sell these as a hobby come business, and I always sell on eBay, and have never had any problems. Yes, you get the odd time waster, of course, but you do everywhere, so I've never really understood when people say they wont use it for that reason, cos it's not a problem that's restricted to eBay. Some people, also, don't like the charges, but they are capped at £75, so, if you're selling something for £750, it's high, at 10%, but at £7,500, it's only 1%. If you really don't like eBay, then your options are; on here, facebook groups (there are a couple that specialise in folding campers) Gumtree, Preloved and Auto Trader. The reason I like eBay is that the others are restricted to a maximum of what you advertise them for. On eBay, I start of at what I would be prepared to accept, but it always goes much higher. Won't work for everyone, of course, but it does for me.

Good luck with that! lol. There's none around at the moment, and post 2002 ones don't come up all that often, which is good, from your perspective.

Folding campers are always difficult to value, as there is no Parkers Guide, like there is for cars. The example I always quote is my own Pennnine Sterling. I bought mine for £1,350, with 200 quids worth of awning annex included. Models of that year, on private sale, average anywhere from £2,000 - £3,000, and my local dealer had one in, without awning annex, at £4,495, reduced from£4,995, so prices vary wildly.

The Challenger is an entry level model, so prices will have an upper limit, even for newer models. I saw a 2003 go, recently, for £1,600. I certainly wouldn't go any lower than that. If you are putting it up now, I would think, probably, in the region of £1,880 - £1,900, but, if you can wait a little longer, you would be looking at £2,200 - £2,300, and, maybe squeezing a little more out of it, if you're not in a rush. Often it's a case of being in the right place, at the right time, in terms of finding a buyer at the best price.

Thank you very much for your advice very helpful indeed, and what you say ties up with one i have just seen on one of the facebook pages, there is an identical looking challenger a year younger than ours for sale on there for over £2000 complete with front awning as is ours so it looks like we will be looking to sell in the not to distant future.

Once again thank you for your advice

regards
