Hi guys! I'm loving my very old pennine Pullman but last weekend when I took my son fishing (horsley campsite. Great spot) I couldn't watch the football. I peered enviously into caravans to see Tin toppers watching the England game. So my question is this. What TV set up. will work well when camping? Will I need a dish? What Ariel etc? I'm sure there are options available but I need a point on the right direction. Thanks guys!

I've just bought a Finlux 22" 12v TV from Amazon to use in our 'new to us' Pennine Fiesta folding camper. I also bought a portable antenna with it, see links below:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B007JPOX8O/ref=sr_ph?ie=UTF8&qid=1466275186&sr=1&keywo........

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Finlux-built--multi-region-player-22FCE274B-NC/dp/B013K2M........

Have not used it on site yet, but tried out when it arrived and it seems really good for the price I paid.

We have just a cheap tv with dvd player and bought a square aerial that you also plug into electricity. It works really well.

Have not used it in the wild yet but on my desk i have one of THESE on my desk which runs of the mains but also has 12 volt operation via fag lighter, fine for freeview, £130 in Maplins but for Christ's sake don't pay that I paid about £40 for mine about 3 years ago, nice and small but just depends how big you want it.
As for the Ariel, wel how long is a bit of string, depends where your going and what signal your going to get, i'm sure some website will give you an idea on what signal will be like, hell i still remember the old days of shoving a wire coat hanger in the back and working better then shop bought one, oh how we miss watching snooker in Black and White

The only thing you need to consider is that on a Pullman the A frame is covered by the bed pod so you can't use an aerial that clamps to the A frame.

It has been mentioned in a previous thread that having owned campers for about 16 years,we tried every type of
TV aerial that we could find that includes plug in and battery operated aerial boosters, About 2 years ago the penny dropped and I realised we already have an aerial
in the centre frame of our Pathfinder the centre of the aerial coax wire is held against the frame with a clamp and most of the time gives an excellent picture even when our camping neighbours could not get a picture. We also have a Aldi satalite dish that we use in remote areas and is not often needed. My only regret is that it took me so such a long time to realise we already had an excellent aerial in the camper frame. We all live and learn.
