That's the beauty of a trailer tent, you're exactly what you feel like being, you're either a tent or a caravan, depends, if it's cheaper to be a tent you're a tent, if you want a hardstanding you're a caravan!

Just to clarify; if you have a trailer tent, then you are a classed as a tent, on most sites, because a trailer tent has to be pegged out, like a normal tent. If you book as a caravan, there is a possibility you could end up on a hard standing pitch, with no way of pegging your TT out. However, on the plus side, Gena15, you DON'T have a trailer tent. You have a folding camper (all the hard top models, barring one extremely rare one, are folding campers, not trailer tents).
Folding campers do give you total flexibility. Because they sit on a pitch, like a caravan, with no pegging out of the main unit, many sites (including the Caravan Club sites) treat you in the same way as a folding caravan, or any other tourer. At the other end of the scale, many tent only sites will treat you as a trailer tent, and, hence, you are allowed where caravans aren't. I have been / am going away 3 times, so far this year. One was on a tourer pitch, and the other two will both be on tent only sites, so no problems at all.
One golden rule with any site, though, is; if in doubt, always best to ask.
