Hi guys, just upgraded from a tent to a folding camper! Just purchased a Conway Countryman and are looking to insure it asap. We have seen the link to the Insurance for Trailer Tents above, but wondered if anyone had any recommendations, it will be staying in the UK if that makes any difference?
It's a long time since we insured our Combi camp but when we did we used the camping club , though am sure you could get a good quote from anyone. One thing to remember is you need to upgrade your Rac /a/green flag to include the trailer , if your vehicle breaks down and you need to be recovered they have to recover your trailer as well
Now our campervan is insured through safeguard
Hope this is some help
I use Insurance for trailer tents, and am very happy with the service.
They also provided the most competitive quotation when I looked around. Very friendly and helpful when speaking on the phone, get a big thumbs up from me.
Personally, I'm with the Camping & Caravanning Club, who I have always found to be very reasonable for my Pennine Pathfinder.
With regard to breakdown cover, there is no need to contact them, if you simply want them to recover the trailer, with the car, if the car breaks down, however, you might want to extend the policy to cover the trailer, in case anything happens to that.
If you want truly comprehensive cover, then this is only available via the Caravan Club (Mayday) and the Camping & Caravanning club (Arrival). These are the only two breakdown policies that will take you to and from your holiday destination, if you break down, so that your holiday isn't ruined. Also, they are the only policies that have dual recovery. In other words, they will take the car to one destination (such as a garage) and the camper to a second destination (like home). Standard recovery policies will only recover them to the same destination, which can be frustrating.
On the down side, you do need to be a member of CC or C&CC, in order to take out these policies.
------------- The one good thing about being wrong is the joy it brings to others..
23 metres? I presume that's all in, including vehicle (or do you mean 23 feet, as that works out as exactly 7 Metres, which is the maximum legal length for a trailer (excluding draw bar) that a standard car can tow).
Just bear in mind, though, it will only be the very basic level of cover, which is fine (that's all I have) but I am considering upgrading to Mayday, for all the extra benefits it gives.

We insure our Dandy with caravan club good price and no age limits and we use green flag breakdown through caravan club, if you have an issue trailer only they will recover and if your going on a pre booked holiday they will take you to destination and home after if the problem isn't sorted. Good peace of mind esp on long trips.
