We currently have an Outwell Vermont tent which has a sawn-in groundsheet with carpet over the top in the main part of the tent and a bathtub type groundsheet that ties to the tent in the front, kitchen area.

This is all very cosy and means no wind blows in and rain water stays out in both parts of the tent.

We're thinking of moving over to a Pennine Countryman FC with awning but from what I can tell the awning doesn't come with a groundsheet.

What are people using on their floor to make it comfy to walk and sit on? We have younger children and they spend a lot of the time when camping sitting and playing on the Outwell sawn-in groundsheet\carpet. Could we have a similar situation in the awning?

Is there anyway to use a bathtub type groundsheet to attach to the awning to keep the wind and rain out?

This is what we used in our awning, I suppose you could then put a carpet down on top.
There is no way, that I know of, to attach anything to make a 'bathtub type groundsheet'.

It's sewn in groundsheet or SIG by the way.

I have one of these;

With the awning flaps tucked underneath, and the groundsheet pegged down, it keeps most (if not all) bugs and draughts at bay. It is possible to get a very slightly larger ground sheet, and use velcro, or similar, just to keep it in place (it doesn't tent to move, when it's covered in furniture, etc, and way, and it does give the 'bath tub' effect easily enough. I've never found it necessary, though.

Thanks guys.

Blue do you find that carpetina get's damp? I'd heard awning carpets can suffer from damp.

Thanks for correcting me on terrible spelling as well, I'll stick to SIG now :)

Bsp do you actually fold the flaps of the awning under the ground sheet then to form a sort of seal?

I'm going to take a first look at a Countryman tomorrow although unfortunately they won't have the awning up.

That's right. The flaps on the Conways and Pennines fold inwards, so pegging the ground sheet on top helps to hold it all in place and seal it a bit.
