Hi,

On my Fiesta awning (2013 model with fibreglass poles) on the top of the 3 front uprights is a small plastic "spike" which goes through an eyelet on the awning canvas, I assume to hold it in place. Should there be any grommet or cap to go over these spikes as surely that will let rain in?

That sounds like a very common setup on many tents. The canvas is pulled down onto the end of pole below and that forms the seal.

We use these over the spike before the canvas goes on (narrow bit down)

We have the drip stops. Don't know if they make any difference but we do use them. They are easy to lose though when dismantling the awning.
