Hi I'm due to travel along the M2 on Friday (23/12) when the wind conditions are about 35-40 mph. I have a Gobur and wonder if anyone knows if it will be safe in these conditions. Would appreciate some advice please.

Is that 35 to 40mph gust speed or average. If gust speed I would expect a Gobur to be OK as long as it's folded down when you tow it. I wouldn't expect it to be any worse than in just the car.

You need to go slow and watch out for cross winds and exposed stretches. Motorway bridges may be bad.

If that's average 35 to 40 it will be bad with gusts possibly double. Wouldn't fancy that.

If your car is borderline heavy enough it may be bad as well.

I had one for many years and towed I expect in all conditions, never with any stability issues. But I expect it depends with what you are going to tow with, I used a SAAB 90. If your tow car is anything of the substance of a Golf upwards I would have zero concerns in wind conditions up to 40 mph. I have never towed with lighter vehicles; very light ones would cause me to wonder as you are.

Thanks for your replies. I have a Mercedes A class and the winds will be about 35 - 45mph. The gusts will be more (unfortunately). I have to cross a long stretch of river across the Medway so that's what I'm worried about. I suppose its best to review the conditions tomorrow and if necessary travel on Sat. Thanks again.

It's never been that bad across Medway viaduct even with a caravan & folded down it's a trailer so won't be a problem. You have 4 lanes so if you are that bothered drive across next to a truck at 55mph will make it more sheltered. If you are going Essex to Dover then use M20 instead.
