When the spring comes and I pull my camper out the garage, I'm planning on keeping it outside as it's a bit tight getting it in the garage and I'm bound to come a cropper if I'm constantly taking it in and out.

I've got a hitch lock fitted, what other inexpensive measures can I take to ensure some low life doesn't steal it ?

I have a ground anchor witch comprises of a heavy chain with one end set in concrete and the other end on to a heavy duty lock attached to the chassis. It would take a bit of time to cut through the chain and is to big for a bolt cropper to touch.
I dont have any faith in wheel clamps they can be removed in seconds with a pry bar

If you visit a camping and caravanning outlet they should be able to supply a wheel clamp for your unit which should be sufficient for the trailer security and should also comply with the insurance requirements. It's easy to store and can be used when pitched on site as well for extra security.

Lots of videos of even large expensive chain being cut with bolt cutters in seconds.


IMO safest place is in the garage, out of sight, out of mind, it is a pain squeezing in or around it but you can check it for damp, soft tyres regularly whilst your in there.
