We bought a Conway Cruiser (2005 version) in October 2015 from a dealer. It was in good condition and had been serviced before we picked it up. The tyres were new. Last year we unfortunately only managed three trips in it and probably did about 400 miles max. Do we need to get it serviced this year, and if so what? Just the gas bottle etc, or chassis and tyres as well?

I was advised by the mobile service chap that every 2 years would be fine, when I had my pennine Pullman, just test everything yourself before you plan on going on a trip, i.e. Check electrics and lights etc to make sure they are working and also check the trip switches on the consumer unit, light the rings on the hob to make sure they light/ stay lit and last but not least check tyre pressure and wheel nuts and handbreak and you should be fine

Or do I yourself (apart from elect and gas) though inspecting pipelines and cables and checking RCD trips would suffice if no probs were experienced while away. As for running gear inspection and lubrication is concerned AlKo have an inspection and lube procedure online.

Hi check the wheel bearing for play jack up and with two hands on tyres see if there is any side play. You can adjust bearing by 1/12 turn right on nut then check if play has gone, then check that the hub spins freely. Also spin wheel if there is noise/rumbling take hub off and check grease load Roy.

Hi me again I forgot to mention that if the bearings show signs of 'bluing/overheating' fit new brearings/seals.
I have a Conway Cardinal Clubman 1988 when adjusting brake shoes up on o/s use a short screwdriver, lever 'upwards'to rotate the 'starwheel adjuster' which will open up the brakeshoes. On the n/s lever 'downwards' to adjust brakeshoes, If you send me your email address I will send you copy of bearing/brakeshoe adjustments from my Conway user manuel Roy.
