I replaced the bearings on my erde 122 trailer and got torque settings for the hub nut but they gave me settings for the wheel bolts and told me they are the same for the hub nut...this was wrong and one stub is now sheared... I have removed the nut now and I am wondering if its worth retapping the thread ?...it will mean a smaller gauge nut so will it still be safe...not sure what else I can do..I have seen replacement stubs but they need welding on..would that be an expensive job ?..I can get the stub for 25 quid.

Heres the currant state...

Welding shouldn't be a hugely expensive job at a local independent garage - though they will be best placed to advise on the best way forward.
