It may be down to their site licence only being for motorhomes or caravans, or they think you will need facilities that they don't provide, toilet, showers, dishwash area.

Owned a trailer tent for some years now and never came across a site that has banned them.

Some sites don't accept caravans. Some don't accept tents. Some don't accept dogs, and some don't accept kids!
Many accept all, of course.
They will all have their reasons, and they are all free to make their own rules on their own sites.
It is what it is, and it's up to us to find a site that suit our own individual requirements.
I don't think there's any cause to use the term "prejudice", whatever the unit.

The only site I've been on that didn't allow tents or trailer tents was Hoburne Bashley. They had all caravans pitched with towbar at the front - all very tidy. They did allow a folding camper but that also had towhitch at the front. We couldn't do that with our Countryman because we would have been back to front. They also had a strict rule that nobody could sleep in the awning and told our campervan friends to take down their pup tent which they were using as storage. ------------- Homebird
