I've just bought a Sunncamp 400 and have a few questions about the mattresses for the double beds that fold out.
I have what seems to be two blocks of foam measuring 200 x 115 x 7 cm. They are not covered, just blocks of foam and not very firm as you can squeeze them flat very easily. They also smell a bit musty so they are heading for the bin.
My questions are:
1. Should the TT have some kind of mattresses for the double beds?
2. What should I replace the foam blocks with? I've been searching around and foam seems very expensive - £100+ whereas I can get an air bed for £10+ from Millets or Go Outdoors
3. What should I use for the kids to sleep on in the pup tents under the double beds? Just a sleeping bag or some kind of mattress as well.
The TT should have full size mattresses that fit the fold out base, inside of the inner tent. The OEM mattresses are ok fr people of slight build, but most folks will no doubt add to the depth. In your case I would opt for an air bed, you can vary the firmness.
The children won't thank you for putting them on the ground. They need an insulating layer, either camp mat, foam or airbed.
The foam blocks that came with it are 115 cm x 200cm which isn't a full size double bed.
I really need to get the tent set up so I can measure inside but we haven't had a completely dry day since it was delivered to me on Sunday.
I found two single air beds in the cupboard under the stairs which I had forgotten I own so I can use those in the pup tents and I will look at double air beds once I am sure what size to get.
