After spending 2 nights away in my folding camper last bank holiday, does anyone know where i can pick up a small electric radiant heater. I've seen a few people with these but the ones in the shops to date seem too large.
I have a small electric heater in the shed that I got from b & q for £7.99 its only 750 watt but I dont think that it would produce enough heat to warm a camper up, we just take our fan heater and use that depending on how much amperage we have 6 amps will run it at 1000 watt and 10 can manage it on 2000 watt that should be lovely and warm for you
We bought a small halogen heater for £12.00 from Harringtons in Cheshire. It really warms up our Conway Challenger but only stands about 18 inches high. It also has a cut out switch in case it gets knocked over. I have since seen these or similar heaters all over the place so they are readily available.
Those halogens are a bit bigger than small...but the heat is absolutely wonderful! And the glow is really cheerful.

"Those are hares, not silly old rabbits. Lovely March hares!"
We have a thermal tube from argos that can be left on as very safe. Also have a fan heater but due to Poppy the dog wanting to get too near we will not leave switched on during the night or when not in the unit. If on a site with no elecric we light the cobb as this is very stable and safe to leave lit during the night.
hi there we have now got 2 small heaters which are brilliant for keeping us warm in the folding camper.. i had never seen another one like our first one but upon looking through different camping pages on the internet I found a company called leisure trail they had the identical heater to what we had originally but the name was different. It cost £10 including p&p which i thought was a brilliant price. It is called a pyramid compact heater, they will keep any size camper/trailer tent warm and cosy has 2 heat settings unlike the halogen that seem to blind you with the light that they give off as well as heat, I have owned a halogen and compared to this heater i would go for the compact every time... I did get the last one that they had in stock but they are very helpful if you ring them and they may be able to get you one. I can say the heat that they pump out is brilliant and we bought the 2nd one to keep the awning warm when we go to scotland in 4 weeks time (its always cold in scotland ) . I forgot to mention that it also has a safety cut out switch if its knocked over. hope that this may help in your choice of heater.
The first link is towsure, you will see they do a small heater, 400 & 800 watt settings. The second link shows a different heater but 400 & 800watt. The second one we actually bought from towsure last year - they were probs carrying it as a promotional line hence it not being in the brochure or online.
Anyways, just to say, it heats the camper up lovely, or the awning and at 400 or 800 wattage doesn't use a lot of electric at all. Decent price too
Its also got that safety feature if you knock it over (or even knock it at all!) it cuts out!
