Are trailer tents offered here boring? Lots are designed on the cheap but are not self sufficient. I'm refering to all TT sold new in the UK. Or is it market driven that makes them come out with all these styles. Looked at the French Jamet TT and that site is the pits. Not much info what's so ever. Is it just me or do I think that everything is still designed on 1990's themes???
i would almost agree, although we do have the opus, but i feel that is more style over substance. that being said french canvas colours are often not that appealing.
IMO it needs to be simple, it can really have all the mod cons of a caravan, otherwise you may aswell get a caravan or a folding camper. For me its about build quality, a good solid easy to tow body, and decent quality canvas
a trailer tent is like a tin of ronseal, a Tent on a trailer, it does exactly what is says on the tin.
But to be honest they are not that popular, people seem to prefer a large trailer full of the latest outwell tent and all the gear that goes with it
Have you looked at the Cabanon and Holtkamper trailer tents (available through Black Country Caravans, for example)? Some of their designs are very modern looking (in my opinion!).
They are a exception in my eyes but holtkampers are not cheap.
Cabanon are the same but slightly cheaper but still old school style. Opus have tried to reinvent the trailer tent with a good model. Australian camper trailers have really taken off but that country has 60% of population going camping. That's what good weather does.
We had a Holtkamper for somewhile. They hold their value far better than most other makes, so you end up with far cheaper camping and have the style benefit whilst doing so.
