Looking for any recommendations for a battery charger.

Got a 110ah battery on board currently that sat just over half charge but not been able to too up whilst it's been plugged in at home prior to first use of camper next weekend.

Would like to ensure it is full before we go

I'd be interested in this as well. I've looked online at various chargers but have no idea what is suitable and what isn't. I don't want to spend a fortune if a cheap one will do the job just as well

If you are looking for an independent charger where you can charge the leisure battery indoors or in a garage etc. then the best type to get is a smart charger which monitors the charge in progress and doesn't reach a gassing stage whereby it can buckle the internal lead plates by overheating. There are several on the market but the most popular one with a good reputation is C-TEK.

I have an Aldi one. Does a great job, and at £13 you can't go wrong.

I agree with Tango I also use a smart charger mine is made by Ring, the one I have is a Ring smart charge 8, and is available from most good motor factor shops it was about £50 I have had it years. The good thing about smart chargers is you can leave it on all the time without risk of damage. The battery on our caravan is the one that came with it so it was 2nd hand when we got it and we have had it 2yrs and it still works perfectly, the battery is from Halfords. The smatcharge 8 charges from 2 amp to 8 amp when we return from a trip I remove the battery to the garage and set the charger to 2 amps and the I just leave it on until next time needed.

I needed to make sure our battery was always topped up as need to use motor movers to get it off the driveway onto the car. There was no easy way to get mains to that location, so bought a cheap 20W solar panel and charge controller and keep that plugged in all the time at home.

Battery is always topped up, helps keep the battery happy during winter and the power is free
