Its been a few months since we went wild camping, and cant remember if we can fit an extension to our TT, was thinking that would be better than a completely external toilet/shower tent, and maybe some of the heat from tent would go into the extension, as well as the canvas being warmer than nylon toilet tents, so would be a bit warmer, plus easier to pass water through if needed, any advice gratefully received,
Hi Heather, when we had a TT we put a toilet in the extension, no need to go outside in the night in need of the loo. I can't say about heating the area but I suppose so of the heat must get in there. We just kept a large milk bottle filled with water incase we needed it.
We made a toilet tent out of one of the bedroom linings that had been chewed by mice. We had a portaloo in it. We clipped it to the awning poles and the base was firm enough to hold it’s shape, with the weight of the portaloo holding it down. We sewed a waterproof base in it,in case of ‘spillage’ as our son was only little at the time. It didn’t take up a huge amount of space, in the corner and had a zip for privacy. It worked great.
thanks for advice, should of said, its not for the loo, its to get a shower as well, we got strip washes when we did the charity run last year, just did it in the sink, pulled groundsheet back n let water go into the ground, heavily diluted the soap shampp etc to protect the ground a bit, but halfway through the event, we all felt we were a bit "fragrant" so bought a 12v shower, that works well, tested on car washing, lol,so will heat water up,put it in coolbox, with cold water, kiddie paddling pool in annexe/toilet tent,to stand in to stop muddy puddles on feet, then tarp to stand on when leaving tent,so just need the external tent,
