Just bought 1st folding camper.1996 Conway Cruiser. on the slide out beds, does that plastic sheet fixed to the bed board go under mattress or on top when packed away.

We used to have a newer FC, the plastic sheet was there for when packing away wet - it went ontop of the mattress to keep it dry. If packing up totally dry, then leave underneath.

The Conway has slide out beds, with the canvas completely covering the bed all the time. Common sense now as you say plastic on top to protect from a damp canvas.

On my Fiesta, the idea is that on a wet pack up you drop the bed pods onto the mattress and then cover the whole thing with the plastic sheet.
Fortunately I have only had to use them a couple of times but they seemed to work ok in keeping the wet "canvass" off the beds when folded.
