I’m fairly new to camping and at present I’m using a blue 904 bottle and it don’t last too long lol
At £25 a refill there must be a better option
What are you guys and girls using?

I take it that a 904 gas cylinder is Camping Gaz which is Butane gas and quite expensive in comparison to Calor Butane. Most people will opt for the Calor Butane 4.5 which is slightly bigger, much cheaper and generally a stockist in every UK town.

A better option in my opinion would be to get a calor propane, you can change it almost anywhere in the uk and it works when it gets cold.
A 6 kg isn't much more than a small one. IE a 3.9kg Propane gas bottle is £17.65 and a 6kg Propane gas bottle is £23.45,
less from go-outdoors if you have a discount card.

and a new gauge will set you back about a tenner.

That sound a lot cheaper Paul
I assume I’ll have to pay a deposit on the propane bottle 🤨

You can usually find a bottle knocking about or get one off an auction site.
I've a couple to take back to the calor depo the next time I change my calorlite, they nock £7 off the cost of the refill.
