If we arrived at a site and it was tipping it down........we went to a pub and came back later!

I'm away in an air b&b this weekend on the south coast. Booked before buying our crusader. Considered cancelling and booking a pitch nearby. Would have saved money.

The way it's been windy, and that the rain hasn't stopped today. I'm glad to be in the air b&b.

Going away in the camper in a couple of weeks though. Eek.

my pullman is watertight a few seconds after rolling back the travel cover and unfolding the beds as the canvas hangs down each side, covering the entire FC.

plus i have the wet pack sheets for going over the insides if its wet going away.

So it really depends on what unit you have.

the weekend went well it wasn't raining when we arrived and whilst the canvas was damp due to rain when we folded it, we didn't have to pack up in the rain. As soon a we got home i re opened the camper on the drive to let the canvas dry out and packed it away today. I am considering removing the canvas for the winter.

You're lucky. It's rained hard here in West Wales for many many days. Yes, the sun comes out eventually, and then it rains again.

Johnboy004809 why do you feel the need to remove the canvas, I had 2 different pennine folding campers over a 9 year period, stored outside without any problems whatsoever, I would never have contemplated removing the canvas, I did once when I renewed from green to brown canvas and awning but that all, we just opened ours up on a dry bright day 1 every 2 months for an hour to give it an airing

Waynetod, yeah I only just got it packed away before the rain started, could see the storm blowing in from the sea. hopefully will be taking the camper round south and west wales in the new year

kpnuts81, if I had the space to open it for a day every few weeks I would but this is not practical. We also get very extreme weather coming straight off the sea and even though the camper is wrapped in a winter cover, we feel it is best for us to remove the canvas and soft furnishings to store these in our spare room.
