Does anybody that has a trailer tent fit quick release gas connections at the bottom of the kitchen I always remove the hose when packing it away but the hose gets shorter and shorter as it perishes the more you remove.
Not entirely sure what the setup is on a trailer tent, don't have one and never really looked at one in detail, BUT when tent camping, I have a bit of a mix 'n' match demand on the single gas cylinder (gas fridge, BBQ, stove), so I use a T piece and quick release couplings (the self sealing type) on the regulator outlet, so that I can swap between stove and BBQ without faff of disconnecting fridge and relighting it.
Makes life so much easier than pulling hoses off stems and swapping over, so can't see why you cant fit one on your outfit. I do check with each use that the coupling is still gas tight using a soap solution, as the sealing rings can wear/get damaged.
thanks i have seen them but just wondered if anybody had fitted them. The gas connection at the moment is at the bottom of the kitchen unit (underneath) and when i picked up the tent the hose was just tucked in under the cover didn't look the best but i hate keep undoing the jubilee clip and trying to get the hose off everytime i'm finshed with the tent though quick release may be better.
I’ve had trailer tents and folding campers and they have all had quick release fittings on the gas hoses to the stove. Current one has a tap on the supply pipe from the cylinder which can’t be turned on until the quick release fitting is pushed in. Can’t imagine that refitting the hose every time you use the unit is safe.
