Hi all, We've been enjoying our camper for the last year but have noticed a big variance in how many amps you get from site to site. Usually you get 16amp but we've been on sites with 12, 10 and next month our supply is only 6amp. We need to have electric hook up as my daughter medication has to be stored refrigerated. Hence I've decided to fit a power monitor so we can ensure we don't trip the site socket. I know i could note everything wattage but my young children wouldn't use it.

So purchased this as a little project

have put this on the main supply in using a wago box and connectors



after testing this i connected it into the main cable



Just got to now cut a hole to mount this on the front of the seat near the main fuse box.

Do others use these to monitor there power usage or have any other ideas on how to do this

update on this project: We just came back from two weeks on a site where we only had a 6amp supply. This meant i could set the display to 1300w to alarm us that we didn't exceed 1440w. this worked really well especially as we needed a backup fridge running in the hot weather to keep daughter medication cool.

to finish this project I need to 3d print a c-line style double socket to hold the screen and make it fit in with all other fittings in the camper. Plus this will look neater than my cutting.

It is very useful, and I specified to have one fitted in my van back in 2020.

It is in the kitchen above the sink along with the instrument panel and the switch for the drop down bed.
